A vehicle attack is an act of terrorism or violence in which a person uses a motor vehicle, such as a car, truck, bus, or other heavy machinery, to purposefully harm others. This can include driving into crowds of people, ramming barriers or checkpoints, running over pedestrians, or using the vehicle as a weapon to inflict damage on buildings or infrastructure. Vehicle attacks have become increasingly common in recent years and are often used by terrorist groups to cause mass casualties and destruction.
